Asante For a Successful Pancake Breakfast in Vernon River!

Thank you very much — asante sana — to everyone who attended our Pancakes for Kenya fundraising breakfast today at St. Joachim’s Parish Hall in Vernon River.  The pancakes (especially blueberry), sausages and fruit were a huge hit!

Thanks to the sponsors including the Walker Drive Co-op for the donation of the sausages.

The money raised today will be put to use very soon. While they are in Kenya, the ten youth and five adults will take part in a number of projects in support of the work of Farmers Helping Farmers — including construction of two new school gardens.  They will be built at schools that have recently been twinned with Canadian schools through Farmers Helping Farmers.

Asante to the VanderKloets, the Milners, the Ployers and the Whalens for their support of the event…and to Tammy Craig who drove all the way from North Tryon to be there with us!

Some upcoming dates to remember:
Friday May 29th 7-9 Chase the Ace for Kenya at the Olde Dublin Pub
Friday June 5th 7:00 p.m. African Children’s Choir, hosted by Farmers Helping Farmers – everyone welcome – free will offering will be collected at intermission
Friday June 12th 7-9 Finale for Chase the Ace for Kenya – we will keep drawing until someone draws the Ace of Spades and wins the $1500 jackpot!!!

Thanks again for your support.
